Welcome to Saturday Quilting Bring and Share. Do bring along your projects and join in the sharing going on in quilty blogs from around the world. Just click on the links to discover what is inspiring other patchwork-quilters. To keep the sense of community going do take a few moments to leave an encouraging word or helpful tip in the comments boxes at the end of each blog you visit – it means a lot to the writers

Well! As predicted, this week sewing time was squeezed by all the other stuff going on (some very pleasurable things including being able to spend two afternoons gardening as we are enjoying a run of sunny days). I did cut out the fabrics and make the HSTs for the centre of the Harvest Basket block from Melva’s Little House QAL. I’m enjoying seeing the blocks other people are making. Diann is one step ahead of me and has made the fourth block, a Shoofly block. It looks good alongside her first three blocks.

Away from the sewing room I made a bit of progress with a knitting project. I’m not sure I shared the project here as I worked on it through November last year, before I rediscovered my blogging mojo. I was inspired by the November Knitting Challenge organised by the charity Dementia UK. I started with a small square of Modular knitting I had begun a l-o-n-g time ago. This method of knitting is great as there are only ever a small number of stitches on the needle at any one time and all the ‘modules’ are knitted together as you go along so the piece grows without having to sew squares together. By the end of November the test piece had grown into a little blanket but I had to put it aside to complete other projects in the run up to Christmas.

So, I’ve picked it up again, finished several of the balls of wool by adding one last row of squares and I’m now embarking on adding a crochet border. This is quite an experiment as I’m very much a novice at crochet …

Anyway, back to patchwork-quilting… Here are the links into our wonderful Worldwide Community:

I recommend Rachel’s blog posts particularly because she is so good at bringing together colour palettes, fabric prints and patchwork designs. Her Trellis Candy quilt is definitely an example of her expertise.

Linda has completed a braided rug (she knew it was complete because the thrift store and left over fabrics ran out!) and completed a dozen tiny knitted dolls. Her post contains the link to find out more about making braided rugs and she has a recommendation for the stuffing to use for the toys.

Cathy’s all about using scraps and orphan blocks. Her latest two charity quilts make a lovely picture on her clothes line. Both have a large central Sawtooth Star surrounded by Sixteen Patch blocks.

Leaders and enders are featuring big in my thoughts at the moment. I posted a little video tutorial in my membership, The Patchwork Hub at Home*, giving the hows and whys of these little scraps. One member responded by saying she often uses leaders and enders to stitch together pieces for a secondary project. I think I first learned this technique from Katy, a quilt blogger I’ve followed for many years. Just this week she posted her latest leader/ender blocks.

Check out the Favourite Finish (March 2026) link party hosted by Yvonne. It’s a wonderful gallery of patchwork items with links to the bloggers who made them and their blog posts.

Leanne is running a month of daily patchwork-quilting tips shared on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. It’s well worth looking up Leanne, ‘Devoted Quilter’, on any of those platforms.

Happy Stitching!

Allison
