Welcome to Saturday Quilting Bring & Share! Bring along your projects and join in the conversations and inspiration being shared by members of our Worldwide Quilting Community.
This edition of SQB&S is published 24 hours late as we took a special Saturday trip to London to watch track cycling at the Olympic Velodrome (a bucket list item ticked and a birthday gift much enjoyed – thank you for the tickets S & B!).

How has your week been? I’ve been dodging the showers and enjoying flashes of low angled sunlight on golden leaves.

On Thursday afternoon the rain finally stopped for long enough for me to venture out on a brisk walk. I stopped off at a cafe for a bucket of coffee and tasty treat (millionaire’s shortbread – one of my favourites!). I enjoy visiting cafes with friends but I also find sitting alone while the fizz of the coffee machines and the buzz of conversations go on around me is generally a restful experience. I take along my phone to continue catching up on blog notifications for Saturday Quilting Bring & Share, enjoying the change of atmosphere from the quiet of reading on my laptop at home.

Stitching progress has been slow this week. After a bit of dithering I quilted the Ohio Star Table Runner. I’m now stitching down the binding by hand, should be finished by the end of the weekend 🙂

Wanting to try a new craft or improve your skills? The 2023 Creative Bundle could be a very inspiring investment. For $75 USD you get access to 68 ecourses ready to download through to Nov 2024. The deadline for purchasing the Creative Bundle is 14th Nov 2023.
Kathleen recommends a couple of thread storage systems and a seam ripper with a built in light 🤓
Rachel is using up string scraps to make a coin quilt. She explains her method in a blog post ‘my Coin Quilt recipe’. I can really understand Rachel getting so much pleasure from using up scraps – ‘it feels like cleaning’ – and seeing the fabric disorder on her sewing table – ‘a happy mess’.
I’m always amazed by the prolific output of quilt designer and maker, Myra of Busy Hands Quilts. Her patterns usually involve quick strip piecing and more often than not have instructions for multiple sizes too. I’m particularly taken with her latest designs, Jacks and Grid Pop.
Amy had to cancel a trip because of illness. She shares her contemplation of how QUILTING can provide life lessons and how LIFE can provide lessons for quilting!
Linking with Alycia for Finished or Not Friday. Appropriately for this Remembrance weekend Alycia has posted about the donation of quilts to Veterans.
Happy Stitching!
Allison

How wonderful the trip to London sounds. Been ages since we have been there. Thank you for the feature! I just ordered one more of those thread boxes on sale…and will keep watching as I probably need another one or two to store all the embroidery thread!
