Welcome to the first Saturday Quilting Bring & Share of 2026. It’s been a while… so a quick reminder about these regular posts…. It’s my way of introducing the supportive community of patchwork-quilting bloggers to readers who find my blog space. There’s so much inspiration and generosity in the form of tips and advice out there and I’d love the links below to be clicked and for you to discover a way into the worldwide network.

First of all, just a quick update from my sewing room. I decided to do a bit of stash busting by diving into a box overflowing with 2½” Width of Fabric strips. I found a good selection of green and yellow strips and chose a Double Irish Chain pattern from Pam & Nicky Lintott’s book, ‘Antique to Heirloom Jelly Roll Quilts’. Of course, I immediately had to go and buy a few new fabrics to reach the necessary number of strips. And I needed more of the accent fabric (thankfully there was still some available!) and the background fabric…. Hmm! Funny how using up stash so often involves buying more fabric 🙃

I’m just over halfway through making the thirty-six 12″ blocks needed. Looking quite fresh and Spring-like I think 🌱

The first sixteen blocks have already covered my design wall. The finished quilt top will measure 76″ square – quite a bit larger than my quilting comfort-zone which doesn’t exceed 60″ square. It will be a quilting challenge but for now I’m busy piecing and pressing 😝

Michelle at From Bolt to Beauty shares her determination to see a collection of WIPs through to the finish. It’s encouraging to see someone getting on with it rather than getting overwhelmed!

If you consider your WIPs have become UFOs then fear not! Julie has some great advice about how to tackle a pile of UFOs and has even created a pretty pdf UFO list for us to download!

Vicki whipped up a couple of mats to protect her new table. The fabric is lovely and the simple quilting adds a nice traditional finish.

Sandra has made the centre of her Stay At Home Round Robin (SAHRR) quilt after choosing four of her orphan blocks. If that sentence sounds like gobble-de-gook then don’t worry! Use this link to find out about the SAHRR from the founder Gail. It’s only just begun so you’re not too late to join in – there’s no sign-up or fee, it’s just creative fun with plenty of inspiration thrown in!

Carole has kindly shared a two part bag making tutorial. The tote style bag is quilted and has a zipper closure and pockets so not just a basic tote.

Christa Watson is building up to a Quilt-A-Long using her pattern ‘Daisy Chain’. It is a lovely design. The QAL begins in earnest at the end of February so there’s plenty of time to purchase the pattern and make fabric choices.

Yvonne has developed an instantly recognisable style of patchwork quilting. Her little project made of left-overs from a much bigger project is just lovely, so balanced in the use of colour and negative space, all perfectly set-off by her choice of quilting design.

Now, if those links have left you feeling more harassed than inspired, take a calming breath and go to my final link: Amira published a post to end 2025 and start 2026. The email drawing attention to the post was titled ‘A gentle hello for the New Year 💛 (and a little quilting reflection)’. It was so good to read Amira’s reminder to find joy in sewing. Not to be sewing to achieve finishes or reach goals but to sew for the love of it and for the benefits it can bring.
