Welcome to Saturday Quilting Bring & Share – on a Monday! Bring a long your projects and share in the inspiring Worldwide Quilting Community. Use the links below to discover new projects, find handy tips and just feel closer to other patchwork quilters as you find out what they’ve have been up to over the past week.
I shared in a post on Friday my latest I-Spy quilt. I always enjoy making these quilts (which would explain why I have made more than one!) and it was satisfying to squeeze in a finish before May came to an end.

And I stitched something new after seeing a tutorial on my tour of patchwork quilting blogs. Mariana has used her easy to follow key fob tutorial to showcase Aurifil threads. Earlier this year I found a couple of the metal key fob hardware pieces in the Retreat goodie bag – I didn’t know what they were until I asked! Having seen Mariana’s tutorial I decided to get on and use the fobs!

Looking at my diary and my to-do list time for sewing will be a bit hard to come by but I have a weekend workshop to look forward to in the middle of June. It’s a rucksack making workshop run by Anna at The Eternal Maker, near Chichester on the South Coast. As the location is so lovely DH and I are making a holiday weekend of it. He’ll spend the days walking along the coast while I’m sewing and then we can enjoy some time together in the evenings.
I hope you have some sewing treats to look forward to over the coming month.

Discovering a reason to sew is often a good way to regaining a desire to sew. Carole was lacking inspiration until she decided to make a quilt for charity. She ended up making two quilt tops from her stash of children’s prints.
Kirsty mixes the story of progress in her sewing room with a cautionary tale about exploding toilets and the importance of putting the lid down!
What and when should stay stitching be used on the perimeter of a quilt top is the subject of a post on Suzy’s blog.
Krista has produced an easy two minute read on the subject of fraying threads and the best type and size of needles to use.
Vicki has made a runner in a day! A lovely gingham check pattern finished with a lovely free flowing FMQ design.
Jo Westfoot is offering a free class all about quilting words. It’s sure to be filled with useful information as well as being fun. Hurry to sign up as the class runs online from 7th-10th June.
Happy Stitching!
Allison
