Take Some Inspiration from North Hampshire Quilters Exhibition

Here are a just a few photos of the many and varied quilts and quilted items on show at North Hampshire Quilters ‘Quilts R Us’ exhibition held over the weekend in Basingstoke. As always there was a warm welcome on the door, an array of tempting fabrics, books and notions in the lobby, delicious food and steaming mugs of tea in the dining area but, most especially, a wonderful display of quilts in the hall.

It was such a pleasure to walk between the stands getting up close to quilts to see the details and standing back to get the overall effect produced by pattern and colour choices.

A contrast - this quilt uses dark, medium and light shades of one colour and a regular repeated block to produce an equally stunning result!

I love the way the great variety of colours and blocks combine to make this 'scrap' quilt so vibrant and dynamic.

Patchwork and quilting can be about so much more than quilts. There was an inspiring display of bags, cushions and tablerunners.

To see all that was on display at Quilts R Us 2014 take a visit to the North Hampshire Quilters website and look in ‘galleries’ for a slide show: www.north-hampshire-quilters.org.uk

And just in case you are wondering – I did get inspired and I did arrive home with a few more fabrics…
