I am so enjoying using these beautiful fabrics. The fabric range is called ‘Mirabelle’, designed for Moda by Fig Tree & Co. I bought the charm pack and jelly roll along with a couple of metres of background fabric several years ago. I’d been inspired by the Missouri Star Quilt Company’s ‘Square in a Square’ quilt video tutorial.

Dashes, Dots and Crosses is a finish! 🙂 I added the binding on Wednesday/Thursday. I am happy with this little quilt.

I still have some work to do on the covers for the two storage trolley-come-bedside tables. Both covers are ready to be quilted. I’ve prepared them using a no-binding method so once the quilting is done the covers will be finished. I’m planning to stitch an all-over meander as a more elaborate quilting pattern won’t show up on all those scrap fabrics. Also, as covers for bedside tables, it’ll be best if the quilting is fairly even so they lie flat – less chance of drinks and table lamps wobbling over!
Before sharing some links to posts that have caught my interest I have a FINISH to share! Wahoo! The Missouri Star Quilt Company inspired Christmas Tree Chevron Quilt is now hanging in our hallway adding to the festive decor 🙂
A few weeks ago the final class of the final Beginners Course of 2018 took place at Purple Stitches. As the class tutor I always make a fresh version of the class quilt along with the participants. We ended the course with a session all about binding. Well… I machine stitched the binding to the front of my quilt and then it hung around as a hand stitching project for quite some time…
Finally I can declare this little quilt a finish 🙂 It joins six other versions of the Beginners Quilt that I have made over the past two years.
This finish also marks the end of an era as Viv of Purple Stitches has designed a new pattern for up-coming beginners courses. I’ve made a sample quilt top and will let you know when the big reveal of the new quilt design takes place 🙂
